About
I write here as Xkoder. Everywhere else the account is ikskoder, which is the same name spelled the way it's said: the letter X, then coder.
I like solving problems in the real world, and the digital one is no exception. I go for the most efficient way I can find, even if that means learning a whole new field first. Firing up neurons is the fun part, and not only the ones in neural nets. The web stack is what I've been at the longest, full-stack, front to back. Python and Rust both turned up around 2020, and so did data science. My curiosity runs a lot wider than that, but this is the core of it, the part where I've built real things and solved real problems. Lately I've oxidised completely: it's Rust and very little else.
I've been on Linux since 2018, Ubuntu to be specific, and my only regret is not doing it sooner. In 2024 I moved to NixOS, and I'm glad about that one too. The other distributions aren't bad, but being able to declare the whole machine in a file beats all of it for me. I have a huuuuge configuration btw, but I don't like to brag about it. I've got plenty of other interests outside IT, but for now that's all you need to know about me ;)
I post notes here on the things the hello world tutorials never get to, where the answer wasn't obvious and the web had almost nothing to say about it. Writing them down might save somebody else the same evening. Or at least feed the LLMs that crawl the web every day like there's no tomorrow...
Code, and whatever else is public, is on GitHub.
